  • Very interesting podcast for sure.
Good to hear that Rev is finally coming to his senses and leaving the dark side of Magellan GPS units. Come to the light where we have Garmins and cookies.

  • Too bad KNP is going to use the same day for it’s event as the
Saint John EX. as the EX. has to uses that weekend and it has been going for a longer time.
They should coordinate their events as they serve the same caching area.

Just a thought by someone who would like to attend both.

Glad you two had a great time with Amazing Race.

    • Despite the Ex going on that weekend, we still had folks from SJ at KNP. It’s in the park’s hands on when they want it but from my perspective, it kind of makes sense to use that weekend as the kickoff for them. There’s more than enough cacher’s in the province to go around.

  • We are unable to change the date of the Ex event as the Ex has been running during this time for decades.
Attendance was down at our event this year compared to last year. If this trend continues it may not be viable for them to continue to fund this. It is something they would have to decide. The Ex spends a great deal of money to have us there for the week with the finale being held that Saturday.

    • It’s unfortunate that you guys didn’t have good numbers. The few from that area that were at KNP said they had done the caches but opted for KNP instead of the event in SJ. I also know a good portion of the Fredericton crowd did a group hike that weekend which may have also affected the numbers in SJ.

We want to support as many programs as we can so it would be nice to see the Ex continue with geocaching if they can. KNP’s program is definitely going to move forward but what it looks like in the future is up to them. Given that Fundy opens on the May long weekend, for them, the labour day weekend really is the ideal time.

I’m sure between all of the cachers around we can find a way to make both programs work.

  • What an awesome experience for you guys and great exposure for CUNB!! It sounds like you had tons of fun, from start to finish. You are a great representation of geocaching and NB. Well done!!
