Changes to the Come Out and Play Contest

Those who attended last year’s Bye Bye Winter Bash event may remember Milosheart making the announcement that after 5 great years, they would no longer be hosting the Come out and Play contest. At that time, they also announced that I would be taking over the contest in the coming years. This is something that I have known for a while, so during the past year I have consulted with a number of cachers, asking for their feedback on the contest over the years. With Milosheart’s blessing, I have decided to make some pretty significant changes. The feedback I received from almost everyone I spoke to was that they have loved playing the contest during the past few years, but they are ready for a change. The new contest will be completely different; it will not rely on the completion of tasks, and scoring will not be related to difficulty and terrain ratings.

In order to allow plenty of time for players to strategize and obtain clarification on any questions they may have, the new contest rules will be released shortly. The official kick off of the new contest will be December 1st 2014.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Milosheart for passing on the torch and Cache Up NB for providing the web platform for the contest again this year. I am looking forward to seeing new and returning players and hope that you enjoy what this new contest has to offer!

  • Thanks to Treehugger and everyone involved.
It is GREAT news that we got to play this winter once again! The COAP and Battlecache contests is how I avoid the geo-withdrawals and geo-shakes.
