Come Out & Play 2013-2014

It’s baaaaaaaaack!

Come Out & Play 2013 – 2014 will officially begin on December 1st and run through to March 31st, 2014, with launch events happening in several locations the weekend of November 23-24th, but you may have a sneak peek now which gives you a couple of weeks to plan your attack. We had such a busy summer and fall that we weren’t able to change much from last year so the tasks will look familiar to some of you.

For new cachers or those who aren’t familiar with it, COAP is a contest to get folks out caching during the cold months of winter. Participation is province wide (and then some), with all NB cachers and those from communities bordering us in both Maine and Quebec eligible to play. The objective is to complete at least 20 of the 44 tasks during the contest period. Speed is generally not a factor but strategy can play a huge part in how well you do, so read the rules and tasks carefully before you start to plan your game.

The English version of the rules and tasks can be found here and the French version here.If you have any questions at all or want clarification on anything please post it as a comment here or send us an email at milosheart@rogers.com

For easy access to all COAP information, to register (you must register to play) and to submit claims there will be a Come Out & Play banner at the top of the page which will be activated closer to the start of the contest.

Since we couldn’t do this without their tech work and support, a huge thank you to Matt, Ken and Chris here at CUNB for making it easier for us to put this contest on every year. We appreciate them so much and could not do this without their continued help and support. Thank you guys!

We hope you’ll join us and Come Out & Play!

milosheart

We're milosheart, also known as Gwen & Terry LeBlanc. We're from Fredericton and have been involved with geocaching since March 2008. When we started caching we each had our own accounts/names. He was Frogger57 and I was milosheart. milo is a nickname of Terry's (from a song he messed up the words to) and, well, I'm his heart (we're still on our honeymoon, 6 yrs on). He logged his first 19 caches then gave up. He loves to go caching, loves the driving, travelling, meeting fellow cachers, searching and finding but could care less about the logging, planning, numbers, etc. He doesn't know how to use the GPS and has no desire to learn, doesn't have a clue what GSAK is, nor care. I love him more for just going with me, blindly sometimes! LOL So we just continued on using my original account and became team milosheart. We cache here in Freddy Beach, Moncton (Terry's hometown), Saint John (my sister and fellow cacher, eebee, lives there) and just about anywhere else we go. Yes, we are addicted. Happily.
