Come Out & Play – The New & Improved Version
In case you haven’t noticed, it’s that time of year again. Come Out & Play 2015 / 2016 is here and this time, it comes with a huge improvement over last year.
This year, in cooperation with the contest’s administrator, Treehugger21, we have completely revamped how you enter your claims and interact with the COAP system. We now have a fully interactive game board for you to use.
On the board, you’ll find a Scrabble-like board with all of the words for this year found on the board. You can click on each letter of a word and it will bring the word up along the right, with the letter selected. You can then enter in a GC code, save it, and move on to the next letter. You can even enter all of the GC codes for an entire word at once using the new CSV option.
Once a word is completed, you can “Verify” the codes by pressing a button, and the system will automatically check if you have found or hid the codes you entered. If they are valid, you can submit it as a claim. If not, you can make adjustments as needed.
And for those of you who complete the board, we now have the ability for you to enter your own words into the system so you can keep playing.
The new website also includes extensive help on how to use the system, a private messaging system to stay in touch with the admins, and a full forum for you to interact with other players within the game.
The game starts on December 1st, at midnight. Check out the new website here.
We hope you enjoy this year’s round of Come Out & Play.
Can’t wait to find/hide some so I can see how it all works!
I only have one problem with the contest. Being the supportive cacher I am, I decided to put out a series of 21 caches in support of Come out and play, to be released the first day of the contest, which was a Tuesday. Because I submitted them on a Saturday to be released the day of the contest, everyone but myself can claim them, unless I log my own caches (and I know how a lot of people feel about that). I tried to adjust this date but errors still come that they are outside date range.
I’d be curious to know which caches these are. Did you report this as a bug on the COAP site?
I would be curious to know if premium only caches are an issue?
It was reported and EVULC said it was repaired six days ago,but it doesn’t seem to be working. I still get the errors. They are premium caches. I don’t normally make them premium but I was getting sick of the “TFTC” or snowflake logs.
Ok, well I am glad you mentioned it because otherwise, we would not have known there was still an issue. I’ll see if something else can be done about it.
Checked again tonight with the same problem. I know EVULC will get it.
Everything has been resolved. Big thank you to EVULC
