Fundy National Park event and caches 2014

Another year another awesome Fundy National Park Event, caches and coin. I just returned from hiding this years caches and all 5 are located at sites associated with the UNESCO Fundy Biosphere Reserve series of amazing places. Many of the 55 places are located in or near Fundy National Park. I was out today with Anna from the Park and Paulie as my new side kick because Zor is too busy being a world traveler. Due to the abundance of snow and the late thaw this year we were restricted in where we could go and what trails we could use that also met the requirement to be near one of the Amazing Places. The total hike should be around 7 kms with a park and grab, 2 short and two longer hikes. We took about 4 hours to place them and could not go as far in some trails as we wanted due to snow or high water at a stream crossing. Even with the shorter distance I am sure the hikes will be nice and no steep hills this year! Please check back here or the listing for the passport you will need to download for the coin challenge, it will be available soon. The event will be held at the same location this year as in the past, at Chignecto South group campsite shelter #2 and please park at the parking lot to the south of the shelter and walk up the short trail. The event will start 12:00 pm and finish at 5:00pm. we will be doing the prize draws and group photo at 4:45. You do not have to come to the event at noon to start, feel free to go out and find the caches whenever you want and come up to see us to collect your coin with your completed passport and your paid park pass. The caches should be published sometime on Friday the 16th.
