Fundy National Park

Cache Up NB has partnered with Fundy National Park to help maintain and organize their existing geocaching program within the park. We are also responsible for working with the park to create new programs that allow visitors to explore the various regions of this great park through the sport of geocaching.

One of these programs consists of a yearly geocaching “coin” challenge which typically kicks off during the May long weekend. A new series of geocaches is hidden every year and for those who wish to participate in the program, they can receive a limited edition trackable geocoin as a reward for finding all of these hidden caches.

The difficulty, terrain, and number of geocaches differs each year, but the principle is always the same. A geocacher prints off the associated “passport” for the year’s program, and using punches found at each cache location, marks each geocache on their passport with the punch. Upon successful completion of all the geocaches, the geocacher submits their “punched” passport to the Fundy National Park offices, and receives their complimentary geocoin. As of 2013, participants in the program must provide a proof of park entry payment in order to receive their coin.

This program was originally started by the Atlantic Canada Geocaching Association (ACGA) but was taken over by Cache Up NB in the spring of 2012. Cache Up NB continues to work with Fundy National Park on creating new programs for the park each year, and other provincial park programs as well.

The 2012 kickoff event was the largest non-mega event held in all of Atlantic Canada consisting of more than 250 participants. The success of this program and Cache Up NB’s involvement has been endorsed by Fundy National Park’s superintendent, Blair Pardy.

For those interested in the Fundy National Park geocaching program, you can obtain a copy of the 2014 & 2015 passports by clicking the links below. All other previous passports are no longer available as those programs have now been officially retired.
