Funny logs

The names of the caches and cachers may be changed to protect the guilty.

Copied exactly as posted.

– Found it but couldn’t sign the log because it was up to high and if I climbed the sign I am pretty sure the cops would be called. (Lame excuse…lol)

– A little damp laid Pastor Jim 2 down and walked over him LOL TFTC (the only way to beat him to a FTF?)

– A nice little trek and view, intrerrupted some ducks! Nice little cache. (What were the ducks doing?)

– Like a few of the previous cachers I am claiming a find on this one since the log sheet/coords were completely soaked so it was not possible to go for the final container. TFTC (So did you find it?)

– There is only a very thin line between genius and insanity. So, naturally, this is my favourite of favourites. (The cache owner crosses that line with many of his hides)

– What an entertaining and clever series. Had alot of laughs, found most of the caches and even met up with the evil critter at the end of the road. Thought he was coming to arrest/ shoot us for a second! LOL. But got a few handy hints instead. Thanks for the hunt! (He scares me too 😉

– I will get to this cache, change the bad container and update it asap (posted May 2011, still not fixed)

– 🙂 (hate these)

– I’m embarrassed to say how many times I’ve been to this location searching for the cache. I had something totally different in my head as to what it was. I wouldn’t have found it today either, except that the CO came by as I was looking (in the wrong place again) for it. Great hide, should be safe from muggles, and cachers too. TFTH! Not giving it a favourite cause I’m still bitter… (good call, I needed 3 trips to find this one too)

– Clothing store (that is the whole log!)

– m (another dandy)

– As you can see from the Rev’s log, your hamster has some behavioral issues. Luckily for me, Rev is also a certified “hamster whisperer” and managed to save both me and the little – beast. TFTC…I think 🙂 (I saved a life that day)

Some of these may be from me, some may from you, either way it proves how important and sometimes down right funny the logging part of finding is. If you know of any good ones please add them below in the comments. Remember to try to protect the guilty.

  • I forgot this one, how do you DNF a cache you didn’t even look for?

Seemed crazy to be here all weekend and not try for this one but I’m not going into that snowbank to get this one. Maybe in the spring.

  • Log from a caching couple (not us)

    Found it

(girl) found this one alone at night. Didn’t sign log, left her pen in the car. TFTC

  • Easily my fave:

    OMG!

I hadnt read all of the previous logs. here’s what happened to me:

After stealthily picking the lock on the timer cabinet, i jammed my 4 yr. old son into the 220V Panel asking him to reach all the way in to pull out the cache.

O if only I had read the warnings!!! Now both he and i have electrical burns we will likely never be able to hide.

Not to mention 4 MP vehicles showed up saying the feds sent them all the way from Gagetown because the city of moncton had been complaining about all the trouble they’ve been having with geocachers at this intersection.

i need a new hobby. this is ridiculous!

    thanks for the cache jerk!

And a close second, same cache:

What an adventure this one was
Thought I found the cache but when I picked it up all
the lights went out. Placed it back quickly and the street lights started to work again.
Gave it a puzzled look and tried for it again.
Out went all the lights again.
Noticed the police who were over at Tim’s look my way so I placed it back and left in a hurry. ( The lights started to work again )
Came back in an hour with my dog ( Niki )
and picked up the cache. When the lights went out again we ran with the cache for the woods. Signed the log and waited for an hour.
NB power was there on our return checking things out.
I asked one of them what was wrong and he just said technical problems.
I sent Niki to distract them and replaced the cache.
On came the lights. I overheard one of the tech say to the other, I just hate these intermittent problems.
    Thanks for the cache.

And there are so many classic Chatelaine logs. Here’s part of one…..

When we arrived back at the parking lot we were surprised to see Cableguy1’s vehicle still parked there as we thought he was a long way ahead of us. “Want a beer” is what I heard coming from his van but when I went to investigate I learned that it was root beer he was giving away. And discovered the reason for his delay – lunch! Salads. I was impressed at the healthy eating. Well, I should say, I was impressed by how healthy Cableguy1 was eating. NBGamer22 was actually wearing his. The look on his face? Priceless. I couldn’t help but laugh although I felt sorry that his lunch was hanging from his ears, covering his shirt and pants and decorating the van’s floor. I guess that will teach him not to shake the salad to distribute the salad dressing – at least not when its uncovered! I was laughing so hard that I dropped my GPS – and broke it. Guess who had the last laugh.

  • I enjoyed reading this log. The photos to go with it were priceless, too!

Had a great week of caching, attended a great event today put on by a couple of great people, found a cache nearby and noticed another one just down stream. I see no reason not to go for it. The bushwacking left a little to be desired, but we have seen worst. Just have to be a little more careful where you step. BUT little did we know what was ahead for us. I reached the river shore up stream from GZ or was it GZ??? Our map says the cache was on this side, so it has to be here, but for some reason our compos kept pointing to the other side, what’s wrong with this gps? Isn’t it working right? Wouldn’t be the firs time that I have found a cache 100 feet away from the cords. So our search began…. Around and around we went. Was just about to give up when we heard voices and twigs breaking, somebody is coming to help us. Out pops TLWTOC and the Digger trailing behind. Now we will surely find it. It has to be on this side, we all ended up here. That’s not the way things went…. As Digger and I stood by the river bank we decided that the cache was on the other side. I suggested we flip a coin, but for some strange reason he wasn’t paying any attention to me. What is he a digger or a wimp? I only knew that after bushwacking this close I wasn’t going to leave here without having my name in the log book. Next thing I new Digger was hightailing it up the shore. Where was he going back to the car? Doesn’t he know that the cache is on the other side? I then decided I was going for it. I sat down thinking that I didn’t want to get my shoes and socks wet so I took them off. After taking a few steps I realized that I needed something on my feet, after all those rocks are sharp, so the socks went back on. The first few steps wasn’t all that bad, the next few were okay but the farther out I went and the longer I was in there, I suddenly realized that this water was getting colder, why wouldn’t it, with the snow laying along the shore and back in the woods, but there was no turning back…. Happy to get to the other side and within 50 feet of the cache. Now that I was on the right side the cache was an easy find. Did my happy dance and the paper work. Replaced the cache and then realized my shoes were on the other side, Why didn’t I bring them over here with me????I am going to have to go back in that water. And I just know that it hasn’t warmed up any since I came over here. Back in I went, happy that I didn’t have to wade clear to my waist, reached the other side, TLWTOC and the other half of Mud in the Face helped me to get rid of my wet socks. And who do you think shows up but Digger…. Mrs. Mud took pictures of my adventure that we will be happy to upload and share with you. A word of advice to those who have yet to do this cache…. you may want to be on the right side of the river. Take it from someone who has pink feet after getting out of that freezing water.. Thanks for the hide . This is one adventure that I will remember for awhile.

  • Here is easily my favorite log on one of mine

I was trying to use stealth and not let the AUC workers outside the zomboni entrance see what I was doing. As I got closer to the cache from the upper parking lot, I decided to head down the path out of sight of the workers but that also ended up taking me away from the cache. I circled back around the garbage bins towards the cache dreading the idea of looking for the cache with muggles so close. I decided to talk to the muggles and see if they were geocachers in disguise…or if they already knew about the cache; which would mean I could safely try to find it. The muggles told me they actually thought I was looking for food in the dumpsters and they were about to go get me something to eat. I did not know whether to laugh or be insulted.

They already knew about the cache so I was able to sign the log and get my smilie. Mission accomplished…Dumpster Diver signing out!

  • One more….

I was caching in Memramcook, when I found this log from a muggle who stumbled upon a cache just off the exit ramp of a highway. Maybe a little NSFW.

“Well, this day I needed to have a piss. So I pulled over and had a piss so this is how I found this. Left a 2010 25¢.”

I took a photo and never laughed so hard.

  • my contrtibution to the funny logs that took place yesterday …..

Tiger was with me during the week when I picked up my 3000 smiley on the island … he join me today as I seeked out this cache …. we arrived at g.z. and me like a ‘bull in a china shop’ went directly to the search …. he is smirking and then laughing as I looked here n’ there … about to give up I asked “is it here?” …. he says “why don’t you turn on your gps” ….. and voila, there it was …. as I was signing the log I noticed something whiz by head …. it was his golf hat that flew off in the brisk wind and landed in a large pool of water with a skim of ice on top …. I got my walking stick out of the suv to aid him in getting his hat back …. sure was funny watching him in action and precariously close to falling in … guess who had the last laugh …. danke ftc

  • Cute FOUND log “Did not find; but did receive permission from owner to log as a find!  Cache was missing”

  • Someone goes for a cache and trips and falls while trying to get the cache and trying to take a picture.

    photo

I was on my way to find another one but the app popped this one up and I seen it wasnt deep in the woods…perfect to grab alone. My phone led me right to it..however taking a picture of it didnt turn out so good…manage to fall into the tree but still got the picture…too bad the boyfriend was working he would have got a kick out of this one for sure! I actually fell into before trying to take a picture then again while trying to take a picture…..I think maybe the boyfriend should be there for safety reasons lol
this one was about 12:15 and very easy!

  • We needed 3 caches today to meet MA’s target of having found 5 caches on each day of the calendar. So PA went out today with Belladan to get a few this morning.

Usually PA drives and Dan gets the caches. But today we did it different. Dan drove, Pa stayed in the car and drank coffee (which Dan had bought for him) and Dan went for the cache.

    TFTC.
