GPS Maze Exhibit

The GPS Maze Exhibit will be in Halifax from September 17th to January 3rd which is a museum style exhibit where you learn about GPS technology.

It will give you a new Icon if you have not visited the exhibit before and it counts as a find even if you have done it before you can still log it a second time as another listing. Check out the two links below for information about what it is and the Discovery Center link.

  • I got the one in Ontario 4 years back. It was kind of neat but I was a bit underwhelmed by it. I was more interested in getting the icon and doing some other caches in the area so I probably didn’t spend anywhere near enough time at it. Looking forward to doing this one.

  • I did the GPS Maze last October when it was at the Science Centre in Edmonton, AB. It is definitely showing its age; some of the boxes were worn/did not work, caches identified as “must dos” in each province are in some cases no longer active, etc. It could use a refresher. I did enjoy the way they taught how GPS technology works, and the maze was overall a great teaching tool for my daughters.

One word of note: go on a day when you think the Centre will not be too busy. We went to the Exhibit when there were school tours; teachers would just let the kids run through, loud, boisterous, and almost trampling us as they just ran through the maze without actually looking or doing anything. It is much better to go when it is a bit quieter so that you can actually take your time and look at the displays.
