Kouchibouquac National Park

parks canada
Kouchibouquac is one of two national parks within the province of New Brunswick. Located in Kent County, New Brunswick, adjacent to the Kouchibouquac Bay, this park is well known for it’s fantastic camping, and winter activities.

In the summer of 2014, Cache Up NB partnered with Kouchibouquac to officially launch their brand new geocaching program. We are working with the park to help maintain and organize their new geocaching program within the park. We are also responsible for working with the park to create new programs that allow visitors to explore the various regions of this great park through the sport of geocaching.

The focus of the initial program is a geocaching “coin” challenge which kicks off during the September long weekend. A new series of geocaches was hidden for those who wish to participate in the program. If they complete the program, they can receive a limited edition Parks Canada coin as a reward for finding all of these hidden caches.

The difficulty and terrain differs per geocache, but the principle is always the same. A geocacher prints off the associated “passport” for the year’s program, and using punches found at each cache location, marks each geocache on their passport with the punch. Upon successful completion of all the geocaches, the geocacher submits their “punched” passport to the Kouchibouquac National Park offices, and receives their complimentary coin. All participants in the program must provide a proof of park entry payment in order to receive their coin.

If you are a fan of our national parks, and love to geocache, be sure to check out this fantastic new program.
