CacheBerry
CacheBerry is a full feature Geocaching application for the BlackBerry. I have been using it for about 6 months now and LOVE it. I haven’t used my Magellan to find a cache since I downloaded CacheBerry. I had planned on getting a new GPS like a Colorado or Oregan but now I don’t, CacheBerry can do just about everything I need.
Here are some of the features of CacheBerry:
- Campass and Radar screen for when you get close
- imports GPX files directly from Geocaching.com
- displays all the information contained in the GPX file
- recent logs, hints, travel bug and coin info
- displays caches on BlackBerry or Google maps
- handles field note to be uploaded to Geocaching.com for logging finds
- sort by nearest, latest found, waypoint , GC code, etc
- instant logging with internet connection.
I have not used the application for hiding a cache due to the accuracy of the GPS reciever in the BlackBerry which is at best usually around 5-10 meters and that is why I will keep my Magellan until it dies. I am currently using it on a BlackBerry Curve 8330 with no problems and I find it runs fairly quickly and with some of the newer models coming out with faster processors and the 3GS network it would be even faster.
You can download a trial version for 30 days for free and then purchase it for $15 Us with unlimted upgrades here . I would definitly recommend this application for anyone using a BlackBerry.
I will leave the Iphone stuff for ZOR.
