Riverview Winter Carnival Geocoin Challenge

It’s another winter so another coin challenge from the town of Riverview. Once again, the town is giving a free geocoin to the first 100 participants who find all five caches in their 2016 Winter Carnival Geocaching series.

The caches will be published on February 5th and the coins will be available for pickup at the Riverview Parks & Rec department, or you can pick them up at 5 Bridges in Riverview, on February 11th at the yearly event. We have the room in the back reserved so come on out.

Remember, you need to have the passport filled out to claim your coin.

Passports for this year’s program can be downloaded here and are also in the event listing, and the listings for each of the caches.

4 of the 5 caches have been hidden on the Dobson Trail. You’ll have an opportunity to go for a nice walk along a well known local trail, snag another cache within the town, and come out to the event to get your coin.

We hope to see a lot of folks come out to the event and enjoy another series of caches in the town.

  • Best cache locations of all previous Winter Carnivals, I loved the opportunity to snowshoe. And from what I hear, the trail was walkable today (though not so much yesterday).

  • I walked the trail on Saturday morning (Feb 13) and it was a great time finding these caches. Trial is well worn and hard packed so showshoes were not needed.

    • I’m pretty sure all the coins for the winter challenge are gone. If you’re talking about the Sunfest challenge, there was about 20 or so coins left after the event on Friday.
