Scrabblecache: The Words!

As promised, here is the list of words a player will have to solve for the come out and play contest. • Time to get a hidin’!

I’ll be hiding series, but in small parts, so the GC codes are as different as possible. πŸ™‚

  • please note that i corrected a mistake in word number 9, it should read “cache” and not “ca#h”. oops. It will be corrected on the game board and claims form when it is launched, but those who have already printed this out will need to make the correction.

    • each letter is worth one point. so a three letter word is worth 3 points, and a 10 letter word is worth 10 points. If you find all the letters/caches for a single word in one day, then the points double (2 points per letter).

This is where strategy can come in to play. Its up to you whether you want to go for multiple small words, or a few big words. Or whether you want to try to solve them in a day, or over the contest period.

Something that is different this year is that there is no time limit (other than the deadline for the contest itself) for laying claims. this means that you can claim a word on the final day of the contest, using a letter from a cache you found on the very first day.

  • What about the spaces? Do we treat number 5,6,9,10,13,14,16,17,21,24,25,26,30,36,37,38 and 40 as one long word?

    • Is it considered β€œcheating” to trade multiple cache listings with other Scrabblecachers to find the GC code that you need?

      • This is what I’m doing and if it’s going to be a problem you can void the words I spell with those hides. I don’t see there being any objections since everyone else can take advantage of those hides as well… but no hurt feeling if it’s not fair play?
