Updates & Changes Coming To Cache Up NB
It’s been more than 5 years since Cache Up NB opened its doors and began the journey we are on. With everything we have done over that 5 year period, there are some things that have fallen to the side. After a meeting over the weekend with a few others, it’s time for Cache Up NB to get back to basics.
The single biggest thing Cache Up NB wanted to do when it was launched was to share information about geocaching in New Brunswick. This included our own write ups, but stories and information about many things related to geocaching here. Over the course of time, Cache Up NB has branched out into many things to help promote geocaching, but the core focus has slipped. So now, it’s time to work on getting back to it.
Within the next few weeks, you’ll start see new articles popping up that will be focusing more on specific series of caches within our province. We want to highlight areas of the province that people can go to and enjoy the caches placed by locals.
If you have, or know of, a series of caches you’d like to see featured here, let us know and we can work with you to talk about it.
We’re also planning to try and put a spotlight on some of the lesser known cachers out there. We see a ton of names come across the recent finds ticker and have no idea who they are. We want to start reaching out to people in our community and see what they are interested in as far as caching is concerned.
Ultimately, we will continue to do the programs we have become known for, but we want to really get back to focusing on YOU as the cacher. The places you like to go. The caches you like to see. The series you enjoy or hated the most. It’s time to get back to basics and would love your input on it.

I’d like to see stories on some of the cachers that have made the North a cool place to cache…… Tracker@230, IndyNB, Greybeast, Mitchmi, Alleycat333, Denislan, as well as cachers from the Woodstock-to-Florenceville area like Mud in the Face.
All those above deserve a mention if not some applause. it is due to them that there are newer cachers in the North, and also is why Quebecers venture to NB to cache.
I love the idea of reading about some lesser known cachers, those with 100 to 300 finds who seem to be more and more active.
I love that. It was actually a lot about the north I was thinking about since we don’t tend to hear a lot from them but they have done a LOT for caching in that area. Definitely need to highlight some of the great work done up there.
Most of us know little to none of the Northern NB Cachers so CG are you volunteering to write them up as I expect you have met some or all of them more than once?

Another item I forgot to mention when I posted this was that instead of churning out an article every 7 days for the sake of having an article, we’re moving to a 14 day cycle.
Since our inception, we have always tried to have at least one new story posted every week. However, we have struggled in trying to have quality material for people to read so sometimes the content has not been as good as we would have liked. So for now we’ll be switching to a 14 day cycle to try and insure we have better content.
Once we have a nice backlog of articles written about various cachers, series, and other items, we will move back to our weekly news schedule.
Makes sense. Quality over quantity. Hmm, sounds like my caching philosophy!!
