What’s Your Mega Story?

It’s hard to believe but the third Maritime Mega event is slowly approaching. Cache Up NB has been working chard to make this year’s mega the best one our region has seen yet. But not everyone has had the chance to attend a mega before, and if they have, we all have different stories about our mega experiences.

The first mega event I ever attended was the very first mega in Canada. GC17PMY

I went with Rev Slippery, Incepit, and Zonker. We drove from Moncton to Quebec City and it was quite a trip. Interestingly enough, the mega itself was actually not all that great. More or less a very large tent and I think two vendor tables. That was pretty much it.

I then opted to go to a GeoWoodstock in Seattle which turned out to be pretty cool.

Since then, I have attended 3 other mega events. The first Maritime Mega event down in NS, another GeoWoodstock, and the MM2 event that took place in Fredericton. For the first mega, I actually only stayed for about an hour, maybe less. I can’t even remember why it was I couldn’t stay, but me and Rev drove there, signed the log, talked to a few people, then came home.

The second GW I went to, I traveled with Jim52 and dragonflys and that was a pretty cool trip. We drove all along the eastern US and snagged a whole pile of states to add to our map.

What’s your mega story? Do you have a memorable mega you’ve been to or are you waiting to go to M3 for your first?

  • Just one, the MM2 in Freddy. Was a volunteer at the registration packet pickup table. Was a lot of fun. I vividly remember the day of the mega wandering around the parking lot of the forestry centre where the event was discovering probably a hundred trackable vehicles and thinking to myself if I was across the street at the mall poking around the cars like this I’d be arrested, lol.
