2012 Ice Walk

I know it is early but I wanted to let everyone know that we will be having an Ice Walk Event again this year. It will be on the first Saturday of February which I believe is the 4th of February.

We will be checking all the caches on Shediac Island and Cocagne Island before the event. There are over 20 caches on each island. We will also be placing a series or two in the surrounding area in case the ice does not cooperate. We plan on archiving the Puzzle Trail caches in Bouctouche to make room for a series of caches on the trail at Pays de la Sagouine. If you have solved them you may want to get them soon.
We will keep you updated.

Here is a link to last years event.

  • Sorry to be a bummer, but I’m hopung the average temperature is much too warm to permit ice formation 🙂 Though I do look forward to hanging at Pa’s house.

  • Last year was our first Ice Walk event. Loved it. Hoping that all will fall into place for the 4 of us to be there this February.

  • We’ll try to be around this year too. Hopefully the weather will permit the ice crossing. We did the ML serie in Bouctouche recently and it must be a really nice walk during the winter. Either way I’m sure we’ll spend a really nice day. Thanks for hosting this once again.

  • Who doesn’t love a ROAD TRIP!!!!!

At the ‘Come Out & Play’ event in Bathurst we made a pact with Greybeast and Tracker230 that we would all go to the famous Ma & Pa Ice Walk this year. We did forget to do the pinky swear so I hope they do not back out for something trivial like having to work.

  • December 26 message from Belladan about the condition of the Shediac River

Great News!!!! It’s been really cold the last couple days and the river is pretty much frozen over. Only a little open water under the bridge. Another month and the bay should be good to go for the ice walk. They are calling for warmer weather tomorrow and Wednesday but it shouldn’t be a problem.
