NewsPa's Caching Tales

$250 caching prize

Some of you may have seen this message on ACGA and/or MGA. It is not my intention to post the same items on all 3 sites but I felt it was necessary this time

************************************

We had a great day caching today. We did maintenance on some of our caches on Route 11, and did some caching in the Beersville area which is on route 465 north of Moncton and east of highway 126.

There were 4 great caches there by tfgump. One was at an old abandoned church up a little lane not far from the highway. Another was at a quiet spot by a stream. A third one was at a stone monument placed by the Irving family in the middle of the woods to mark the spot of the homestaed of the first Irving to arrive in Canada in 1822.

The fourth cache GC275X5 turned out to be very expensive. We parked at the entrance to an old road N46 25.746 W065 06.524 and walked about 800 meters up the road to a spot where we entered the woods N46 26.120 W 065 06.884. We bushwacked about 70 meters through the woods and then came to a field where we found the cache another 20 meters away at N 46° 26.131 W 065° 06.958.

After signing the cache we bushwacked back through the woods. When I came out of the woods I realized I had lost one of my hearing aids. We followed our tracks back through the woods to the cache but it is like looking for a needle in a hays stack because it is a very small brown device.

If anyone goes for the cache and happens by extreme luck to spot the device, I am willing to provide a reward. I am not too hopeful but you never know.

Well I think I have learned my lesson. No more hearing aids worn in the woods. This is the second one I lose.

Hey maybe I should create an event to find it.
