Cacher’s Corner Podcast – Episode 3

We are back again this month!

After taking last month off me and Rev Slippery finally sat down and put together this holiday season podcast for geocachers. In this month’s episode:

  • We talk about the recent launch of Opencaching.com and what it could mean to the future of geocaching
  • This year’s province wide winter contest inspired by cachers in Saskatchewan
  • Tidbits here and there on the latest changes to Geocaching.com, including what’s coming up soon
  • The perils of losing your TB’s, coins, and caches
  • An introduction to the iPhone app Geosphere
  • And of course, our usual run down of the latest events and caches to be published.

Hopefully you’ll enjoy this month’s episode and look for another one to pop up in January of the new year. You can play/download it below or subscribe to us on iTunes via this link.

FTL!! First to log.Can I include that in my cache stats.
Thanks for another interesting pod cast.It would be interesting to hear more about geocaching using the iPhone vs a handheld gps( hint, hint).I have a basic cell phone and I am thinking of upgrading.
Keep up the great work.Looking forward to the next one.

  • Finally took some time to listen to all 3 podcasts. Glad I did because there is really informative stuff in there. This site is my main ressource for everything geocaching since I can’t attend that many events. And god knows how ressourcefull these can be when you can talk with more experienced cachers for a few hours straight.

I’m looking toward hearing more about that ET Highway caching experience if you can manage to do a mini interview or something. And since Zor has cached in a few different states, are things done differently there ? I have only cached in NB, 10 caches in NS and 1 cache in QC so like they say, I haven’t got out much.

Thanks for hosting this, you guys are doing a great job!

  • Thanks for the kind words denislan. That’s an interesting idea about talking about how caching in different places varies. Definitely put it in the pot for a future podcast.

You just have to love the tunes. It get’s you stoked for another episode of cacher’s corner. All I think that is missing now is a good closing line…

The new site is very nice and its great that they are finally giving the people what they want. They sure warmed my heart as I was realy starting to become unsatisfied with Geocaching. I was done with being a premium member but now with favorite they got my money once again…

Opencaching could realy have something but I’m not excited with what I see yet. I think I will become a member so that my significant other and I can hide our realy creative hides. We would like to have them published at geocaching.com but with trying to keep people happy over at gc.com we are unable. With Opencaching we will have them hard to find make you cry caches that some of you have ask us to archive in the past. So with two site we can go from pleasing everyone with easy numbers on one and also have great very difficult and enjoyable caches at the other. I wont get started on the reviewers this time…

Twitter is very interesting to me and having it connected to this site is/would be great. I think it would be great to click on a page or on someones profile to see where they are and what they are doing (geocaching related) LOL. I guess an ongoing day to day live blog with all CacheupNB’s members would be cool…

Great ideas on private events very good idea. Nice being able to talk freely amongst like minded people with out getting strange looks from the muggles not like thats much of a problem besides the breakfast in Saint John. Knightville has a good location for a private event if anyone was looking for a place. I would personally like to visit the place and encourage anybody to check it out. I would do it myself but I want a smiley face because I love numbers…

Thanks for the info on the apps. I realy want to stat caching that way as I find myself in a city with time to spare and I’m never prepared with caches loaded in my receiver…

So is it just me or is it time for cacheupnb to have their own awesomely cool geocoin? I would realy like to go around and take them from caches and not log them then maybe sell them on the black market… LOL

I know this does not read very well at time as I am not telling you what I’m talking about and start mid stream. However, I’m listening and commenting at the same time and just spewing out what comes to mind and I’m not willing to change because that’s just the way I am Ha ha. Lets just hope that Zor get paid for the more we say like with other site…

Thanks again for another great podcast…
