GSAK Problem

I have a problem, well more than one but, we’ll address just this one today. I create a PQ, I receive an email advising me of the PQ I created, I can previw my PQ and all looks well. I cannot get my PQ to GSAK. It will not go no matter what I do, click, double click…..

I had no problem until Nov 2010, before that, easy peasy. Does anyone have any ideas? I am not a techie so simple steps and explanations please.

I was at the GSAK session today  and several cachers poked about, but no answers. Thanks, Marilyn

Hmm, married with one adult daughter, 1 son in law, 2 granddaughters and 2 cats. We enjoy spending time at the beach, motorcycling and travelling , of course, we fit caching in when ever we can. One of us is a Maintenance Supervisor at the Hopewell Rocks and one of us is a Foot Care Nurse.

just a note gsak will extract the file for you all you have to do is open the zip file with gsak the other thing is that the current format for gpx files is 1.0.1 and if your still using an old copy of gsak it won’t read the file i would either upgrade your gsak or change what gpx format that your pq’s are outputted in here: http://www.geocaching.com/account/ManagePreferences.aspx if none of that helps go to the gsak forums as clyde is very helpful http://gsak.net/board/index.php?s=f27f243cbaa37f91321edc984ea4e792&showforum=6

Don’t unzip the file. GSAK will do that automatically. What type of error message do you get?

  • new registration numbers were issued in July. Maybe that is the problem

  • I believe that Chignecto Duo’s problem was solved when they sat down with incepit at the Ice Walk. They had switched to another browser and it seems that the method they were using for GSAK only worked with IE. When they startedd using IE again, the problem was solved

  • I think they could have continued to use Chrome, but just needed to get it set up correctly. Regardless, I am glad they have a working GSAK again
