Help Groundspeak break their own record

I’m not sure how many of you subscribe to Groundspeak’s weekly newsletter on geocaching, but this morning it came in my email and I read an interesting blurb I thought I would share with New Brunswickers.

“We want to see how many geocachers can go geocaching on a single day! We’ve chosen 10-10-10, since the date represents 10 years of geocaching and 10 years of Groundspeak in 2010. Bring your friends, bring your family, bring your worst enemy (if that’s what it takes) and let’s see if we can beat the previous record of 56,654 accounts logging on April 18, 2010. Even one log counts since we are counting how many accounts log a cache rather than the number of caches logged.” – Groundspeak Newsletter, August 27th, 2010.

It seems they are looking to break a website record of 56,654 logs on a single day and they want to try to break this on October 10th.

In order to do this, many people will have go out, find a cache, and log a find all on October 10th. There are already several events coming up for the 10th of October and I suspect more will be popping up. So if you have the chance, please try and help them achieve their goal by finding and logging at least one cache that day.
