Kiss my Cancer Geocoin

Here is a great way to get two Geocoins and help in the fight of Cancer. Jennifer was half of Sparky and Nemissa, Chris is the other half. You can purchase the two coins for $30 at the front desk of the Moncton Hospital or contact Chris at the number below. The reason you buy them in a set is to keep one if you wish and release the other to help with cancer awareness. Chris said they are going quickly and there are about 30 left.

  • Definitely interested. My personal dealings with cancer has only really been prevalent over the past few years. In the spring of 2010 I lost my father to pancreatic cancer; his battle lasted only 8 weeks. We all miss him and I think of him every day. Only two months ago, on June 25th, our 11 year old niece Cynthia (who I introduced to geocaching on a visit from Mississippi) lost her 10 month battle with epithelioid sarcoma.

For the past 3 years, my family (including my wife and daughters) have been part of a Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life team in memory of my Dad.

  • Forestfauna, I also lost my father to pancreatic cancer after a very short time of 5 weeks…it was 17 years ago now but there are times when it seems like yesterday. My Dad would LOVE geocaching and I would so enjoy being able to share it with him. He was all about walks in the woods, loved a challenge and was a bit of a packrat and had several collections on the go…I know he would have loved collecting geocoins!

    • It is one big regret of mine that I never took him out with me. I’m not sure how much he would have liked it, but he certainly loved hearing the stories about my frustrations, the hikes, the hides, but most importantly, how much fun I had doing it with my family.

I hid a memorial geocache in his honor, overlooking one of his favourite places (next to home, of course): GC2A7KQ

A little late commenting but we picked one of these coins up in the summer. It is very nice and for a great cause. I think most people have probably been affected by Cancer in some way, whether it be a family member, etc. We never forget them.

  • Hello everyone, I re-released this story in an attempt to move the last 30 or so coins. If you are interested in helping out and getting a couple of nice coins for a great cause you can contact, Sparky&Nemissa or Sadie n’ Sabrina through their GC accounts.

  • We arranged to get the coins while at the Riverview event last night and will shortly have a coin in our hands and will also have one out travelling.

Hope others will consider purchasing coins in support of this great cause
