New Brunswick Winter Challenge Geocoin Pre-Sales
Like last year, we have decided to design and produce a geocoin commemorating the New Brunswick Winter Challenge. These unique, trackable coins are available at a presale price for $7.25 until the end of February, after which point the price will increase to $8 per coin. We should have samples of the coin available for viewing by the end of February, though I have included pictures of the coin proofs here.
Also note that a special, non trackable version of the coin will be awarded to the cacher who gets high score, and the cacher who gets the low score, in the Come Out and Play Contest.
I am handling the sale and distribution of the geocoins, so if you’d like more information or have any questions about them, please contact me (either through facebook, or my geocaching.com account).
For more information, check out the official order page here.
Geocoin description: This is the 2010-2011 version of the New Brunswick Winter Challenge geocoin. It was designed primarily by Coopsquared, with input garnished from the Fredericton Region Geocachers. Original concept suggested by forestfauna.
The front of the coin is a winter night scene, complete with glow in the dark moon and reflection. The geocaching symbol is “hidden” on the snow in the roof of the cabin, in that it’s all but invisible, but glows in the dark. The snow itself has a glitter effect that should look like snow. The trees will have a textured, translucent effect. The stars in the night sky is an actual starmap of the night sky of Atlantic Canada during the winter.
The back of the coin has a snowflake pattern similar to the trackable icon associated with the coin. The blue background is a shimmering translucent, while the dark blue of the snowflake is a glitter effect that has the effect of ice.
I like it and already ordered one. The little guy on the coin looks like someone trying to get back from Shediac Island to Ma&Pa’s place but there is too much water.
We also ordered one of these beautiful coins at the Ice Walk
I hope you do not mind that I posted this information on ACGA forum

I don’t mind at all – in fact, I appreciate it!
The ACGA mentioned it in an email sent out today!!
I got an ACGA email. It mentioned the Contest and gave a link to CacheupNB but did not mention the coin.
BTW I also posted the info on the MGA forums.

Again, my thanks!
My email has a link to the coin sale page?
Yep you are right. I missed the second link
