Real “find” ?
Just cause there is not much said around here lately I thought I would try to stir things a bit 😉 I came across some funny logs lately that made me wonder, are they real “finds”?

Only the cap was present, or so it seemed. We were here with the Sandinis and enjoyed the spot, hope this cache is replaced as it would be a shame to miss this area cache.

logging in a find even though the cache seems to be missing.. the most likely location for the cash has nothing there..the last few logs seem to support this theory…this cache needs archiving.
And this one, the funniest of them all: I did not find it nor even stopped, but I claim a smiley.

I got this one a little while ago on a cache that had been archived and removed 9 months before and I didn’t use double sided tape.
“did not realise it was archived. was going to let you know its missing. I did find the double sidded tape that held it though. does this count??”
I emailed the cacher and stated that the cache had been archived 9 months earlier and since the was nothing there to find or sign then it wasn’t a find. I asked if they signed the log and that they could do what they want, I got no reply and the log is still there for the find.
I also had someone DNF a cache because they “didn’t want to climb over the snow bank to look”. Stuff like this proves that we are not all rocket scientist 🙂

As I always like playing devils advocate and not knowing if this was the cache or not… Look what I started… lol. Cache-Tech has a interesting comment. I wonder why they approve caches with no containers if they are not geocaches? Sure takes any creativity out of the game. Don’t worry I will delete the log now that the perpurpose of it has been fulfilled. I didn’t think it would have last this long with so many people policing the game these days. However, I don’t log my own events so it does even thing out. 😉 Not about the numbers eh? Oh, thats right with the cost of gas and not wanting to see the same place twice…
I have had a few of the ‘Couldn’t find the container so i replaced it with a new one and signed the log sheet’ comments. I am not really into deleting logs/finds, but i am sitting back waiting for the day when someone puts a log saying ‘found two caches and didnt know which one was correct’.
The found log where someone stated they did not even look for lack of parking, i would delete, even with my no deleting policy. That’s just lame!!
