Satellite Imagery on your Garmin GPS Part III – Mobile Atlas Creator Video Tutorial

Sometimes learning a new piece of software can be a little tricky. Well in the case of Mobile Atlas Creator, I’ve created a new video tutorial which will give you the lowdown on how to get it going.

The tutorial runs a little more than 6 minutes but covers the basics on how to select what map set you want, how to move to and select the area you want to add to your GPS, and how to get the Garmin KMZ overlay onto your GPS unit.

Although this tutorial uses some specific options for Garmin, Mobile Atlas Creator supports multiple output types including outputs for Magellan GPS devices as well as OziExplorer maps. Feel free to try your own combination to see what works best.

Mobile Atlas Creator can be downloaded from here. Once you have it downloaded, simply extract it to a folder and launch the EXE. You should be able to follow the tutorial from there. The only Garmin units that support this type of overlay are Colorado, Dakota, and the Oregon.
