Tower Rd to Salisbury by Bike

I briefly mentioned it before, but here it is. I’m looking to do the new caches published by Tower Rd towards Salisbury along the old rail line. This was the old R2T / A-Z series that was recently replaced by the Musical Instrument series.

I’m heading out to do this by bike on Saturday, October 11th. I plan to start at 9am  at this cache:

GC5CQ41

and snag the ones on Tower Rd near the bridge, then turn around and head towards Salisbury.

If anyone is interested in joining me, I’d love the company. Please post a reply on here if you’re up to it.

  • Also, if it’s full on rain that morning, I won’t be bothering. If it’s sprinkling a little I will probably go but I’m not spending the whole morning soaking wet.

  • October 11 I am in.
How long do you plan on staying or are you going for all the caches?
We can bridge with our car avoiding having to bike back.

    • My current plan is to drop my car off at the 5 points church, then have my wife drive me to Tower rd with my bike and start there.

  • We just did half the trail today, 35 caches from Coverdale Road towards Tower Road. It took about 2 hours but then we had to bike back. The road we thought was a road was an ATV trail for 2 kilometers; lots of really, really deep puddles. Wiped out in two of them. Lots of fun.

    • At the moment, there’s Me, Zemartelo, and possibly EvulC and Rev Slippery.

There should be enough cars and such to coordinate cars and shuttle from one side to the other.

  • There were a few caches already on the ground when Jim52 and I did them last week. We fixed them as best we could, but some duct tape would be a good idea to help maintain them. Just a note, several are not winter friendly.

    • Good to know.

It does look like the rain will be holding off that day, according to the forecast today. Should be good to go.

  • We may be doing the trail on Sunday with Belladan. We think we may do it on foot after reading Chatelaine’s logs about her bike ride. However we will check with Jim at the Casino breakfast tomorrow and also get info from the group doing the trail on Saturday.

If anyone else has comments let us know.

  • I am going to have to pass, a family thing is going to be going on Sat that I did not know about. I will get these caches another day. Have fun.

  • Pa the trail is in great shape … We biked the entire series over two days … The first day was threatening rain, so we stopped at the halfway point … We then left the railway trail and biked back on Synton Road … That was the mess Chat is referring to … Google luck
