Website Feature Requests

Been a bit lazy for the last month since the big release.

I didn’t really need the break, but after replacing both my desktop computer and my web server since they BOTH decided to die of old age in the same week (The desktop was only 4 yrs old! The web server was almost 7 so they didn’t owe me anything.) things started to fall behind a bit on my desk.

Anyway, the important bit for you people is I have offhandedly promised some features and bug fixes around here and I want to make sure I clean them all up.

The ones I remember:

  • Problems with the chat page in the mobile theme on iphones. (per heath/ninja)
  • Wipe stale map/google latitude position info (per ZeMartelo)
  • Beeps on the chat window (per CG and Rev)

There may have been others. You may have found a new bug. If so please mention in a comment below.

  • I know I’d like to fix the sidebar issue with non-logged in users for posts, but I know we talked about that already. 🙂

  • On a related point, the mobile version of the site does not allow you to submit comments on articles. That might be handy.

    • This is a known issue and is related to how the site integrates on the mobile platform. I had a really crappy version of it working previously but it was so bad that I had to pull the plug on it. I am hoping to re-add it once we have the ability to log in with your account on the mobile app.

  • Pa, Categories have been re-added.

    Comments fix has been implemented.

Heh, are we going to need to start creating a release notes page for site fixes and bug reporting…

    • i remember you asked for this. I also remember Zor turning this on in the mobile theme.

So i changed nothing and went ahead and tested what i thought you meant:

the post below was done from the mobile site. i logged in using a menu option under the ‘arrow’ button in the top right of the screen. from there i could post replies.

heath: this should also solve the problem you mentioned about not being able to post.

      am i missing the point?

  • I just turned off the mobile site and went to full site, once logged in go back to mobile site if you wish and post from there. I always use the full site anyway.

  • Mainly as others have mentioned the log in option for the app, I wrote out 2 lengthy comments on a couple of topics and lost them as I noticed it wasn’t posted. Didn’t repost on here due to lack of time at the moment and probably couldn’t of made them sound sensible twice lol

  • There is a difference between the mobile version of the Site and the APP. This was written from the mobile Site. The APP does not do comments.. Yet.
