Dobson Trail

As some of you may know I, along with my scout troop, have taken on the task of doing maintenance on the first two kilometers of the Dobson Trail. I have been out there doing work on a new fire pit at the 2.4 km mark for the last couple of weeks and plan on doing more upgrades to the trail.

Many of you have made multiple trips there in the past few years to find caches and attend events and I also bet that you are wondering how you would be able to return the favor to the trail that we all enjoy and love. Well here is your chance!

This coming Tuesday, November the 15th we have scheduled a work day to try to get some much needed work done on the Mill Stream loop trail, it requires some new gravel and fill in some places, work to the small bridges and the removal of an old log and rock “stairway”. I will be there from 8am to 4pm and if you can spare a few minutes or hours to come out and help, that would be fantastic. There will be a few regular maintenance guys there and we plan on having a small boil up at the fire pit at noon. They know that the geocachers are users of the trail so lets show them that we give back as well.

I realize it is a week day but these guys are all retired and I am a shift worker so we can get out on week days, maybe the next one will be on a Saturday….lol

Thanks, Rev.

count me in …. what I need to know is where to meet you at 08:00 ??

  • We are working on the Mill Stream loop which is about 400 meters in, park in the newer parking lot, near the stream, not the old main parking lot. We will be there from 8-4 so come anytime you like.

  • I am planning to be there, barring something unforeseen, or barring something foreseen (like laziness).

  • Thanks for coming out and helping guys, I had fun and it is nice for a “soft” guy like me to do some real work for a change. For those who want to see the pics of our work check out the Dobson Trail Facebook page or http://www.dobsontrail.com

  • Rev,

Your recent log on Mill stream loop work says “Here some pictures of what we worked on today.” But there is no hyperlink to the pictures

    • The stories on the main page are only an exerpt of the story, 200 words long, you have to click on the story title to get the full page, just like here but I made it a little longer. I may shorten it.
