We're milosheart, also known as Gwen & Terry LeBlanc. We're from Fredericton and have been involved with geocaching since March 2008. When we started caching we each had our own accounts/names. He was Frogger57 and I was milosheart. milo is a nickname of Terry's (from a song he messed up the words to) and, well, I'm his heart (we're still on our honeymoon, 6 yrs on). He logged his first 19 caches then gave up. He loves to go caching, loves the driving, travelling, meeting fellow cachers, searching and finding but could care less about the logging, planning, numbers, etc. He doesn't know how to use the GPS and has no desire to learn, doesn't have a clue what GSAK is, nor care. I love him more for just going with me, blindly sometimes! LOL So we just continued on using my original account and became team milosheart. We cache here in Freddy Beach, Moncton (Terry's hometown), Saint John (my sister and fellow cacher, eebee, lives there) and just about anywhere else we go. Yes, we are addicted. Happily.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We trust you are
beginning to enjoy the ravages of winter. It’s pretty cool where we
are at present, but, it is sunny and dry. One quick question…Are
ticks considered as “dangerous animals”? We are almost paranoid
about getting those things attached to us and/or our dogs,
especially with the worry of Lyme’s disease. We have already come
across several caches in the Myrtle Beach area with them included
in the attributes along with thorns and poison ivy (which
fortunately is the least of our worries). Those thorns down here
are something to behold. Thanks for your input re. this query.

Sandini – While I agree that ticks are nasty little bugs… they aren’t considered dangerous animals. That’s why there’s an attribute for ticks, and a separate attribute for dangerous animals. The Wild Thing task states that it must display a “dangerous animal” attribute to count as the task, so I’d say it’s a pretty safe bet that a cache without that attribute would not count.

Good luck with the challenge! Myrtle Beach is one of those areas that I know we’d love to get to one of these days, too. Happy New Year!

  • Seson’s greetings tyou, Gwen & Terry, and to all our geocaching friends. See you all on the trail.
