The Nova Scotia Spring Kickoff

Nova Scotia Spring Kick-off – Our 5th Anniversary event is March 27 at Elmsdale Nova Scotia which is an exit or two before the Airport on highway 102. We have been to this event twice in the past and we highly recommend it. It is held at Curly Portables a great pub with incredible food.  We have eaten there on many occasions.

This event is the place to be on March 27.  Geocachers literally take over the pub for the event. Last year 93 cachers logged the event which means there were likely 200 people in attendance. Everyone gets a name tag and you get to wander around meeting all the Nova Scotian’s whose names have appeared on logs and on the ACGA forums.  There are draws for great prizes and the 3 GEEKS are there with their mobile store if you need supplies.  They will also be offering a coin this year to commemorate this event.

Last year we headed there with Chignecto Duo and stopped on the way in Truro to pick up a number of caches. This is a great time of year to get the caches in Victoria park, as the stream is high in the park and the water falls are spectacular. We also got a cache at the piece of the Berlin Wall that was erected in town.

We also picked up a number of caches at the exits along highway 102 and headed East of the highway to do the Oh Boy series on the country roads. All in all we picked up about 50 caches on the way to the event.

We plan on being there again this year with Chignecto Duo. Hope to see you there.

Sounds like a lot of fun, Pa. Wish we could make it but we’re heading to Brewer/Bangor for their spring event, GC22G40, “Aloha, Let’s Get Tropical”. Maybe next year we can make it to the 6th annual event at Curly Portables. Hope you all have a great time!

Anyone from Moncton going, I am planning and could do some caching along the way. If there are 4 we could go in my truck other wise just about any other vehicle would be cheaper, except for Mark’s limos. Hey maybe we should all get together and rent one and split the cost, it holds about 14 people!!
