Troubles with passwords?

I noticed that for some of our visitors, it looks like you may be forgetting the password you need to use to log in. I know that for some users, the system generated a password for you when you signed up on the site originally. If you never changed this password, it might be hard to remember and thusly you’ve had to use the password recovery tool.

To save yourself a little bit of hassle, change your password to something that you will remember. To change your password, simply click on “Profile” within your profile badge (top of the page, along the right hand side where it shows your avatar) and scroll down to where it allows you to enter your password. It should look something like this:

Be sure to click the “Update Profile” button to save your password change.

By using a password you’ll remember, you should have less difficulty logging in. You can also choose the “Remember Me” option to stay logged in so that the next time you visit, you won’t have to log in at all.

Thanks, big help, especially when dealing with a crappy computer that I have to shut down every other time I log onto this site. My password the site emailed me was impossible to remember. Cheerio, M&G
Now, how do I add my pic to my profile? I see avatar but no place for a pic.
Are nontechies the bane of your existence?

  • There is no place to add a picture to your profile. If you want a “profile” that’s visible, submit it as a news item and email me ore Rev the photo you want to use and we’ll add it.
