Seeking help from Saint John area cachers

A few weeks ago Cache Up NB was approached by some organizers of the Canada Day events in the Saint John area. We were simply asked if we were interested in hosting our own type of event and have it included as part of the Canada Day celebrations within the city of Saint John. The event could be pretty much anything but I am guessing that if they wanted to include geocaching, they’d like some kind of intro event or a sort of meet and greet with fellow cachers.

I have sent out a few emails to some folks but I thought it would be a good idea to also post it out here. I personally will not be in New Brunswick on that weekend otherwise I would have done the event myself.

The event can be anything really but I think they are looking for something that the general public can get into, and I think they would prefer it to be on July 1st unless it’s something real specific. My idea was to perhaps to some kind of meet and greet/intro in Market Square and anyone who comes by who wants to know more could be taken on a mini-hunt for a cache that was hidden in the square just for the event (not published), but I’m open to suggestions.
